Arizona Genealogy

You can learn a variety of information when searching for ancestors in Arizona, including special projects that are occurring in Arizona's genealogy. In the 1540's Spanish explorers arrived in what is now the state of Arizona. The Navajo and Hopi Indians also arrived around this time. Jesuit Priests inhabited the land for brief time. Mountain men also began living in the land that is Arizona, followed by traders and cattlemen. Arizona became a state on February 14th, 1912, making it the 48th state. State genealogy is so popular that the US GenWeb has launched a project to keep state genealogy search free. It is providing free Internet websites for genealogical research in every county and every state in the United States.
