Tip of the Week

If you are searching for your Austrian ancestors there are several options you can take to help complete your genealogy search.

First, try finding all-important documents for the ancestors in which you are searching. Marriage, birth, death, and divorce from your ancestor's church, the library and other available archives.

The Internet will also provide you with a wealth of information. Try doing general web searches, place finders such as: maps, gazetteers, encyclopedias, etc. You may also want to do a surname search of your relative, search immigration passenger lists from ships, do a living person search for relatives that may still be living or have a close connection to your deceased ancestors. Finally, do an Austrian surname search which is specifically made for searching your Austrian ancestor's surname for information.
