Tip of the Week

Massachusetts is ripe with history of the United States. Have you ever wondered what makes up the genealogy of the state of Massachusetts? Who were the original inhabitants of Massachusetts? Do you wonder if you could be related to any of them?

Massachusetts was most likely explored by Norse explorers who landed on Cape Cod more than 1000 years ago. The Mayflower colonists arrived by ship in December of 1620 on Plymouth Rock. These colonists arrived from England. Do you know about any of passengers on the Mayflower? These people were, in a way, the foundation for the colonies and plantations throughout Massachusetts.

Mr. John Carver came over on the Mayflower with his wife Katherine and child. They also were accompanied by two man-servants and a maid.

John Crakston came aboard the Mayflower along with his son, John Crakston.

Mr. William Mullines came over along with his wife and two children, named Joseph and Priscilla along with a servant named Robert Carter.
